You want the camera and LensAlign to remain perfectly stable during testing so that each shot is precisely aligned to the next, making them easier to compare. If you have any concern about your camera’s stability, we recommend using a remote release. Mirror lockup can also help stabilize the shots if it is available.
When taking LensAlign test shots, we use ambient light to illuminate the Central Focus Target, and flash to illuminate the Focus Display Ruler. In this scenario, camera movement is no longer an issue because of the high speed of the flash.
